Brake shoe refers to an accessory that is pushed out by the action of the brake cam or push rod to suppress the brake drum to play a braking role. It is installed on the brake drum and is one of the key safety parts in the automobile brake system. The shape of the brake shoe is like a half-moon. When the brake is stepped on, the two half-moon brake shoes are stretched out under the action of the brake wheel cylinder, and the brake shoes are supported to rub against the inner wall of the brake drum to slow down or stop.
Brake shoes are vulnerable parts and will gradually wear out with use. Under normal circumstances, every certain mileage (such as 5000 kilometers) should be checked for the wear of the brake shoes, including thickness, degree of wear, and whether the return is free. If the brake shoe is worn to the limit position, it must be replaced to avoid reducing the braking effect or even causing a safety accident.
